Corporate Initiatives

HID's environmental sustainability initiative extends throughout our business, from product design, production and transportation operations, to the facilities we occupy.

sustainability

We believe that it is important to understand and improve the environmental footprint of our operations and products by setting ambitious goals for certifications and business process improvements as well as measuring progress routinely.

Our Initiatives:

  • Building Design - Ongoing membership on the U.S. Green Building Council, where HID also follows LEED guidelines for all existing building operations, remodels and new construction and integrates LEED training and professional accreditation internally.
  • ISO 14001 Certification - Achieving ISO 14001 certification of integrated management programs.
  • Ongoing Initiatives - HID's lean initiatives focus on continuous process improvements to reduce waste of paper, manufacturing materials, energy and water use, and other resources company-wide. As a core component of HID's commitment to environmental sustainability, the initiatives optimize the use of technology automation, workspace, recycling and innovative programs to minimize HID Global's carbon footprint.
  • Employee Green Teams - cross-functional teams of employees drive improvements for energy and water use reduction, promote increased recycling, and sponsor community volunteerism events.
