Automated Hand Hygiene

Introduction

As employees begin returning to work, new organizational safety standards require improved hand hygiene practices throughout the workplace. Hand hygiene is the number one way to prevent the spread of infections, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In hospitals, contactless soap and sanitizer dispensers are commonly installed inside or outside patients’ rooms for infection prevention, however, enforcing consistent usage for every single interaction has been a challenge. Global enterprise organizations are now faced with implementing the same stringent hand hygiene practices in the new workplace environment.

HID Location Services make it possible to measure hand hygiene usage and capture data of employees using soap and sanitizer from dispensing systems. Not only does this help reinforce behavior, it also helps with compliance policies and protect employees.

Location Services

How it Works

An HID BLE sensor is embedded into a dispenser to monitor each contactless use. Using real-time location services, when a team member uses the dispenser their BEEKs credential authenticates and registers the event. The employee badge ID, dispenser ID and the event time stamp is sent to Bluzone Cloud for reporting and analysis.

Location Services

HID Location Services lays the foundation for more IoT services available today using the same ecosystem. Businesses do not need to abandon any investments for long term use. Location Services technologies from HID are used across industries to manage building occupancies, space optimization and asset tracking. New solutions to solve for recent workplace regulations, including social distancing and contact tracing, are also available. Additionally, in industrial applications, manufacturers can implement remote HID Condition Monitoring to predict failures and monitor the health of equipment using the same architecture. Learn more.
